The Los Angeles Lakers are NBA Champs once again. A sports franchise with 17 championships is impressive. LeBron winning 4 titles with 3 different franchises in 2 different eras of basketball is particularly impressive.

Mask-wearing has become the new normal in America. The country, in a matter of weeks, has had to make a hard pivot from masks being discouraged to mandatory. Studies have shown that men are less likely to wear any facial coverings because they feel overly optimistic about the virus not affecting them.

New York continues to bear the brunt of the United States’ COVID-19 outbreak. As of this writing, over 300,000 people have been infected, with death totals north of 23,000. The Empire State has a history of cataclysmic events, from the 1977 blackout, 9/11, and the more recent Hurricane Sandy.

Here is a painfully obvious statement: the COVID-19 crisis has had a profoundly negative impact on everyone. Regardless of color, ethnicity, age, socioeconomic upbringing, political affiliation, we all have been impacted by the coronavirus. It comes to no surprise that the LGBTQ community has been negatively afflicted as well.
