4 Things: LeBron Haters Are Delusional, COVID Is "Conservatively" Dangerous, Jay-Z Is A Pawn & Offset Is A Simp
Me: LeBron just won his 4th championship!
LeBron Hater: Michael is 6-0 in the Finals!
Me: Bron has won a championship with 3 different teams.
LeBron Hater: Michael is 6-0 in the Finals!
Me: I know, but LeBron has also made the Finals in 10 of his 17 years in the league. Does that count for anything?
LeBron Hater: Michael is 6-0 in the Finals!
Me: LeBron has a big beard.
LeBron Hater: Michael is 6-0 in the Finals!
Here are this Monday’s 4 Things.
1) LeBron’s 4 rings might be as good as Michael’s 6 rings.
The Los Angeles Lakers are NBA Champs once again. A sports franchise with 17 championships is impressive. LeBron winning 4 titles with 3 different franchises in 2 different eras of basketball is particularly impressive.
Long gone are the days where players stayed committed to one team. Player mobility is a huge part of today’s NBA. Half of the players on ESPN’s Top 10 List at the beginning of the 2019-2020 season have played on multiple teams. We probably will not see another Kobe Bryant or Tim Duncan who played their entire careers with one franchise. So comparing LeBron’s mobility to Jordan’s “loyalty” to one team falls flat. LBJ winning championships, despite his mobility, is a monumental feat in itself. He has won a championship with Miami, Cleveland and now Los Angeles within 2 years of him joining the franchises. Cleveland, in particular, was a horrible franchise before, during and after LeBron’s stay, yet he willed them to a championship.
Along with winning a title in multiple uniforms, LeBron has done so in multiple eras. When James first entered the league in 2003, it was a more physical, big-man-dominated NBA. Kevin Garnett was the league MVP, Ron Artest (now Metta World Peace) was the Defensive Player of the Year, Zach Randolph was the league’s Most Improved Player and the NBA Finals matchup that season between the Lakers and Pistons was dominated by bigs like Shaq, Ben Wallace and Rasheed Wallace. LeBron had to play a more physical style of basketball back then. About halfway through his career, the 3-point explosion happened. The Splash Brothers, KD and James Harden took over, making the league much more guard friendly and less physical. LeBron, who was already a perennial all-star by that point, had to change his game in mid-career to adjust to the shifting landscape. He adjusted and still performed at an elite level, going on to make the Finals 10 times. Truly impressive, but…

2) The dangers of the coronavirus are only issues during conservative events
The coronavirus pandemic is labeled “deadly” when it seems to be beneficial to label it as such. Only certain protests and demonstrations are being deemed “unsafe”. The White House reception for Amy Coney Barrett was described as a “superspreading event” by Vox’s Brian Resnick. President Trump’s White House rally organized by BLEXIT’s Candace Owens and Brandon Tatum was considered irresponsible by many. Even the rallies outside of Walter Reed Medical Facility last week were criticized by left-leaning media pundits. On the flip side, the Lakers’ victory celebrations in Los Angeles that turned violent are not being criticized by media pundits for potentially spreading the coronavirus. Neither are the “Day of Rage” protests in Portland and other cities, tearing down statues and ransacking more businesses, or the protests over Derek Chauvin’s release from jail are not being talked about in the context of COVID. Neither are the protests in Wauwatosa, WI over the police killing of 17-year-old Alvin Cole.
It seems like Democrat-endorsed protests do not spread the coronavirus, but maybe it’s just my biases speaking.
3) Jay-Z Has Become A Political Pawn
In a piece I wrote last week titled “Liberal Celebrities: How Far Left Are They?”, I mentioned that Jay-Z might be “playing” liberal because it is advantageous for him to do so. It is becoming more apparent that this could be the case. Hov continues to pay bonds for protesters and rioters that have been arrested. Most recently, he paid the bond to have Wisconsin protesters, including the mother of the aforementioned Alvin Cole, released from prison. Jay has always considered himself a business empire: “I’m not a businessman. I’m a business, man.” Corporations are and will be downstream from popular discourse. Their goal is to turn a profit and please stockholders. Jay-Z and his Roc Nation empire are no different. He is a faux-slave to the emotional whims of the masses. If his consumers, especially the Black ones, feel that police brutality is a problem, then he must give the appearance that he is doing something about it. Paying for protesters to be released from prison does absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of this issue, but it is window-dressing that appeases his fan base.
4) Offset wants Cardi B back
Maybe Offset has been listening to some classic Johnnie Taylor who said it is “Cheaper To Keep Her”. Maybe he wants to remain a fixture in his daughter’s life. Whatever the case is, Offset reportedly wants to end the divorce proceedings with him and his wife Cardi B. These are not terrible reasons for wanting to reconcile their marriage.
Here lies the problem…
Cardi has already blatantly disrespected him publicly. The couple’s dirty laundry has made headlines all across the industry: there was arguing, cheating, more arguing, more cheating and more arguing. Not only is Cardi the bigger star, but she has the added benefit of being a woman (in today’s culture, the woman is always right) and people will naturally side with her claims. Regardless of what actually happened, Offset should work out an arrangement with his daughter and move along. Staying with Cardi will only provide further damage to his image. Going back to the arms of a woman who blatantly disrespected him to the public is very simpish behavior. It kind of makes him look like a WAP (Weak Ass Person).
LOL!!
Sorry, had to go there. Have a great day!
