Angel Reese's Followers Are More Fallen Than She Is

The Apostle John and Dante Alighieri never met Angel Reese or her fans. Yet, they perfectly described what might happen to her most loyal fanatics.

Apostle John wrote in the 21st chapter of Revelations, "But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters [italicized for emphasis], and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death."

In his book Inferno, Dante places heretics and idolaters in the sixth circle of Hell. Heresy, defined as any belief running counter to Christian doctrine, condemns these souls to fiery tombs—a symbol of their separation from the divine. Idolatry is a form of heresy.

I mention all of this because of the pushback I received for my piece about Angel Reese being a prostitute. It all stems from heresy. It is the result of idolatry.

I received this email yesterday from a user named Sam.

There's a lot of ignorance packed into these 76 words.

"Rent is due and you see people jumping 1 person online so you decided to do the same."

Let's unpack this. First, I have a mortgage. I don't hold any negative preconceived notions about renters, but obviously, this person does. They should remember that they will or probably already have daughters, nieces, cousins, aunts, mothers, and sisters who rent, and they would never want them to be spoken about in that manner.

In all seriousness, this email reeks of idolatry: idolatry of skin color and women. John and Dante believe idolaters have a fiery fate coming because idolatry is a denial of the First Commandment: "You shall have no other gods before me."

The first words of the email were, "Stop using black women for engagement." Am I not allowed to offer opinions about black women? Why?

If any of my critics peruse this site, they will see I have critiqued plenty of people of all skin colors across the political spectrum—Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Eminem, Joe Biden, Megyn Kelly, Ben Shapiro, Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, Taylor Swift, Pearl Davis, Barack Obama, Colin Kaepernick, Jen Psaki, Jason Whitlock, Megan Rapinoe. But most of the blowback I receive comes after I criticize women with brown skin—Kentanji Brown-Jackson, Simone Biles, and now Angel Reese. I've critiqued Candace Owens in the past, but to the skin color idolaters, she doesn't count. She's the blackface of white supremacy.

We've gotten comfortable celebrating what's on the surface while ignoring the values underneath. Angel Reese is a product of our morally bankrupt, hyper-sexualized culture. She is implicitly saying that her skin color, breasts, big butt, and big lips are all she has to offer. Reese is devaluing herself, her athletic talent, and her family. Do a Google image search on Angel Reese. There will be more images of her in a swimsuit or some hoochie mama outfit than of her on a basketball court. Her sexuality is her gift to the world—not to a man in marriage within the confines of their bedroom.

"Dehumanizing and sexualizing women isn't cool," the emailer says. Angel Reese and her legion of idolaters do that far more than I could.

I don't know if the emailer, Sam, is a man or a woman. If it's a woman, I get the outrage. I disagree with it, but I understand. If it's a man, it's yet another example of how far men have succumbed to feminism.

Many modern men fear women. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver's fear of the angry women in the WNBA is why he continues to lose millions of dollars a year on a league that hasn't turned a profit in nearly three decades. Men in corporate America fear lawsuits and other legal backlash from women. It's why DEI programs were installed to provide "sexism insurance." Many working-class men, and more specifically, working-class black men, are afraid of losing access to women in the bedroom. It's why so many of them pander to every emotional whim a woman throws their way. They fear and revere women the way we should fear and revere Jesus Christ.

Women and feminists know this. They leverage men's fear of them for their benefit. Fox Sports personality Joy Taylor was willing to play the #MeToo "he forced himself on me" card if her workplace flings went sour.

When you anchor your identity in Christ and your beliefs to scripture, a person's skin color and what kind of private parts they possess become ancillary. I do not care what color Angel Reese's skin is. She presented herself as a tramp, and I called her out for it. I have the same smoke for Kanye's wife, Bianca Censori, Kanye's ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, and the whole Kardashian band of witches. I have the same level of critique for "Hawk Tuah" girl.

To reiterate, I have no personal animus towards Angel Reese or any woman of any skin color. My gripe is with the rampant idolatry that is pervasive in our culture. If America doesn't come to grips with and repent for our idolatrous habits, there is a fiery pit waiting for all of us.
