Uvalde: When Calamity Strikes, People Turn To THEIR God

As America plunges deeper into an abyss of chaos, people are looking toward a higher power for answers. However, it is becoming more evident by the day that everyone's version of a higher power is not The Most High.

Some people are leaning into their Christian faith. Various booksellers have reported steep rises in Bible sales since 2020. Tyndale has reported a 44% increase in Bible sales since the beginning of the pandemic. Alabaster Co, which sells religious books aimed at Millennials, reports a 143% increase in sales from 2019 to 2020.

Contrastly, atheists and non-believers are also turning to a higher power amidst chaotic times. To them, it comes in the form of politics, corporatism, and Hollywood.

Since the heinous incident in Uvalde, Texas, left-wing automatons have been screaming that America "needs to do something" about gun violence in schools. Notably, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr had a visceral reaction.

A couple of things to note here. First, Kerr points the finger at all 50 Senators, claiming they want to hold power. But, he calls out Mitch McConnell, a Republican, by name. McConnell is the Senate minority leader. Chuck Schumer is the Senate majority leader. Democrats run the government right now, giving Schumer more authority than McConnell. So, why call out McConnell and not Schumer?

Second, the H.R. 8 bill Kerr referenced would not have stopped the shooting. Per Congress.gov, H.R. 8 would establish "new background check requirements for firearm transfers between private parties (i.e., unlicensed individuals). Specifically, it prohibits a firearm transfer between private parties unless a licensed gun dealer, manufacturer, or importer first takes possession of the firearm to conduct a background check." The Uvalde shooter passed three background checks. He would have circumvented H.R. 8 if it was a law.

After the shooting, House Democrats passed H.R. 350, the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act of 2022. The bill would expand the Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security, and the FBI to focus on "white-supremacist-related incidents or attempted incidents." Kentucky Senator Rand Paul eviscerated the bill in front of Congress.

Kerr and other liberal zealots are looking for the government to play the role of God.

Bigger government and more gun laws will not alleviate tragic incidents like Uvalde or Sandy Hook. Conservatives are also falling into this trap, believing solely in more guns and looser gun laws.

As the concept of family continues to erode and people choose careers over family, some push their employers to act as a higher power.

Employees at Electronic Arts (EA) are pushing the company to release statements supporting transgenderism and abortion. Chief people officer Mala Singh responded by saying the company will only speak when it will "actually have a positive impact."

"The thing about the world today is there is a lot of division, we know this right, we see it every single day, but the thing that unites us is that we're all here to make amazing games and experiences for our players, and that is how we have the most positive impact on the world."

EA is following Amazon, Microsoft, and other corporations providing workers with resources to get out-of-state abortions if they live in a state with restrictive abortion laws. Instead of people taking their own "reproductive health" into their own hands, they rely on an employer to do it for them. An example of a complete lack of faith and responsibility.

Idolatry is convincing some to turn to Hollywood to act as God. Quinta Brunson, the creator of ABC's Abbott Elementary, a comedy series centered around a Philadelphia public school, is pushing back against demands for an episode on school shootings. In the wake of Uvalde, audiences want Brunson to address the issue on her show to illustrate to the government and others why gun ownership should be limited.

Brunson tweeted:

She's correct. We are not well as a nation. When there is a devoid of Christianity in a person's life, they will fill that emptiness with almost anything else. Money, material possessions, corporatism, sex, lust, food.

I am talking about myself here, as well. I live a gluttonous lifestyle right now. Proverbs 23:21 says, "For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags." If I do not find a way to cure my cravings for sugar, I will live a life of poverty and disease. That falls on me. Not my employer, not a television network, not a politician. ME.

A lack of moral and religious backbone has allowed secular principles to seep into American culture. I am not solely blaming liberals for this. Conservatives share some blame. As Christianity comes under attack, believers cower in fear of the mob or backlash from family and friends. Christianity is the single most persecuted and demonized religion in history.

In 1954, President Eisenhower encouraged Congress to add the words "under God" to The Pledge of Allegiance to counter the heavy influence of communism at the time.

Africa is one of the toughest countries to live in if you believe in Christianity. It is no coincidence that Africa has been ravaged over the years because of communism, which is anti-individual and anti-religion. 19 of the world's top 50 countries where Christianity is heavily persecuted are in Africa. In some extreme cases, believers can be discriminated against, tortured, and possibly arrested. In Nigeria and the Republic of Congo, the abductions of Christians are on the rise.

Africa should be a warning sign for Americans if we do not rediscover our faith in The Most High.

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
